On the Römerberg in the city center of the city of Frankfurt am Main stands one of the city's landmarks, the town hall. This building is known as the “Frankfurt Roman”. The origin of the name is not certain. One theory traces it back to Italian merchants in the Middle Ages. The entire town hall complex now includes eleven buildings. The present model shows the three oldest houses with their historic, stepped, three-gable facade.
