Description

Model building sheet in a scale of 1:300
The Zollverein XII mine in Essen was built between 1927 and 1932. From February 1, 1932, 12,000 tons of hard coal were mined every day. It was shut down in 1986. It was considered the most beautiful, most modern and most efficient colliery in Europe and is now one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It houses around two dozen institutions from the fields of art, culture, design and new media. The central visitor center is located in the former switch house. Tours of the museum start there. It's not without reason that the Zollverein mine is a huge crowd puller. In addition to the winding tower, the Schreiber model shows the two winding machine halls on the left and right. The shaft hall is located under the winding tower. Parts of the car circulation and rocker hall can also be built. The wagon circulation brought the mined coal from the shaft to the Wipperhalle, where the material was sieved and sorted using machines.
