Model cut-out sheets, Scale 1:200

The "Bodensee" was the first passenger airship to be built by the Zeppelinwerft in Friedrichshafen after World War 1. Designed and built in just a few months, this airship, with the registration no. LZ 120 was, at 120.8 metres, the shortest of the Zeppelins of the old kind. The "Bodensee" went into service on the 24th. August 1919, plying between Berlin and Friedrichshafen. At the end of 1919 the "Bodensee" was lengthened by ten metres and a sister ship was also built, called the "Nordstern". She was to ply the Skandinavian route. In mid 1920 the Versaille Treaty saw to it that the two ships went to Italy and France respectively, as the "Esperia" and "Méditerranée".
