Description

Paper model sheet in scale 1:100 Paper model sheet in scale 1:100 The Ju 52 has made history. It was developed as a low-maintenance machine for airports with bad facilities and rapidly made a name for itself as a particularly robust and reliable machine. It was originally built with only one engine, and the first tri-motored version flew in 1932. The first two of these were put into service in Bolivia. From 1934, the Lufthansa flew the Ju 52 and already one year later, 85% of their fleet of aircraft consisted of Ju 52. Its maximum speed of 290 km/h wasn’t particularly high, but the take-off and landing speeds of 120 and 106 km/h were also low. It was designed for a crew of three and 15-17 passengers or 1,500 kg cargo load and a cruise altitude of 2,500 m. The complete machine cost about 230,000 Reichsmark. Even today there are still some airworthy machines. The Ju 52 is also on display e.g. in the Deutsche Museum in Munich and in the Technical Museums in Sinsheim, Berlin and Dessau.
