Description

Papermodel of the first Zeppelin LZ 1, scale 1:200

On 2 July 1900, the first Zeppelin airship launched on its maiden voyage, which was completed in just 18 minutes. On 17 and 21 October 1900 followed by two more trips, then LZ 1 had to be scrapped for lack of funds.
Nevertheless, with these test drives, Count Zeppelin's dream of building a dirigible aircraft began to become a reality. The first Zeppelin airship, with which the basic correctness of the principle could be proved, soon followed by more perfect airships, all of which had the rigid construction. LZ 1 stood at the beginning of a development that reached its peak in the thirties of the twentieth century, but also its temporary end.
This model sheet allows the construction of the first Zeppelins in the scale 1: 200 in one of the three versions he had in his rides.
